Lanmama

The Lanmama Virtual Museum is a collaborative project between the University of Hong Kong and the Guizhou Lanmama Museum, created to promote and share valuable Chinese cultural heritage with the public. The project was made possible through the support of the Guizhou Lanmama Museum, which provided access to its collections, detailed information, and high-quality photographs, as well as contributions from HKU’s Knowledge Exchange Office, Faculty of Education, and University Library. Supported by the University of Hong Kong’s Knowledge Exchange Fund, the virtual museum was developed following the cancellation of a planned physical exhibition of Miao embroidery due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The project also acknowledges Tomoko Torimaru’s One Needle One Thread as a reference for translation.
